Reverend Troy F. Harrison, Sr.

Service at St. Joseph CME Church: June 2001-Present

Rev. Troy F. Harrison is a native of Varnville, SC.  He is the third of five children born to the late Henry Harrison, Jr., and Sarah F. Williams Harrison who resides in SC.  He was educated in the public school system of Hampton County District #1, and is a graduate of Voorhees College, Denmark, South Carolina with a BS in Mathematics.  Currently pursing the Master of Divinity degree at Shaw University Divinity School, Raleigh, NC.

Rev. Harrison accepted the call to preach in Oct. 1992, under the pastoral leadership of the late Rev. Hervis Williams at Blunt Chapel CME Church in Varnville, SC.  In February 1993 he delivered his initial sermon and was licensed as a local preacher in March 1993, by Presiding Elder Satchel Doyle, Sr.  He was ordained Traveling Deacon in July 1998 and Traveling Elder in July 1999, by the late Bishop Charles L. Helton, and in 2000 he went into Full Connection.

He is married to the former Bernice McClain of Paterson, New Jersey, and they are the proud parents of five children; Troy Jr., Travis, Brittany, Brentton and Brianna.

Presently Rev. Harrison is the pastor of St. Joseph CME Church in Chapel Hill, NC he has served for nine years.  Prior to his appointment here , he served three years at Cannon Fair CM Church in Williston, SC.  Currently he serves as the Carolina Annual Conference Statistician.  He has held that position since 1994.
